My vacation is here! After all the sleep counting, I leave for Europe today. I woke up so early, hit the gym and am now I am just waiting around until it is time to head for the airport. I would say, I am more bouncing off the walls then waiting. Just so excited to embrace the adventure!

So see you all when I get back!

Ciao!!

Today was my last full day in London. I really had nothing on the agenda today which was kind of refreshing.

I got up early and relaxed fror a while before going out for a run. I just had to do an easy 30 minutes today as I gear down for the marathon which is in just a couple days. I ran along the other side of the Thames for something a little different.

Running along the Thames

I needed to buy another bag to take home with me. I was just over the limit coming here so with the few purchases I bought I needed to be able to split up the load! I walked down Putney street and found what I was looking for. I spent the rest of the afternoon organizing and packing.

It was really raining today so I went to see a movie to stay dry and pass some time but got soaked again on the way home.

Right now we are just chilling out. Not going to do anything but relax tonight as I have to be at the airport early. My flight leaves at 11am so I need to be at the airport around 8:30. Jen and George are going to help me carry my bags up the tube station stairs tomorrow morning and then off I go to the airport.

It truly has been an amazing trip. One that I will never forgot. I felt like I got to see and do so much. And spend time with some great friends at the same time. I am ready to go home though. Ready to run this marathon. Ready to get back to my life.

Well  my trip is almost coming to a close so I thought I would spend the day shopping since I really hadn’t done any on this trip yet. But I wanted to make a stop at the V&A Museum  first to check out their Fashion exhibit. It seemed fitting for the shopping day I was about to embark on.

The V & A Museum

It really is amazing to see how fashion has changed over the years. Some of the pieces I loved.

By Charles Frederick Worth 1881

The Piano Dress by Karl Lagerfeld for Chanel 1995

Chloe 2005

‘Watteau’ evening dress by Viviene Westwood 1996

Now for the shopping. I had to make a stop at Harrod’s just because and ended up buying a pair of shoes. It is truly a remarkable store. The kids section is ridiculous and for all of those people that love to dress up their dogs….they would be in doggie heaven. Things you thought you would never need for your dog, they have.

Harrod’s

I moved on to Oxford street and spent the rest of the day there. I did myself proud. Bought another pair of shoes and a few other things. I didn’t want to return to Vancouver with zero money so I turned around and made my way back home.

I met up with Jen and George for a drink In Notting Hill at Beach Blanket Babylon (www.beachblanket.co.uk/home.html). It has a really cool decor and a great drink list but the service was a bit slow. And don’t expect to order a beer. They only have two beers available…this is a place for cocktails only!

We then went down the street to this Thai restuarant called Walmer Castle. The bottom is a typical pub but upstairs is a tastefully decorated Thai restaurant. A little different from what you walk in to downstairs. The food was excellent and along with the Prosecco we had a great time! Another great night in London.
