A little behind on updating this. Has been really busy the last couple of days.

Friday night was once again about hockey but first our Canadian women curlers were taking on the Swedish team in the Gold medal match. Who knew curling was so exciting? The swedish team tied it up in the last end and it went to an extra one where with the last rock, the Canadian women were not able to knock of the swedish team and had to settle for Silver. But what a game!!! Or is it a curling match? I have yet to find out what the right term is.

And on to the Canada vs Slovakia hockey game. I have never been known for being a calm person watching hockey but the last 4 minutes of that game were down right wrong.I don’t think anyone was in their seats as Slovakia came on strong and tried to tie up the game. With some amazing goal tending my Luongo we were able to hang on and move on to the Gold medal round. A perfect rematch with the USA.

Vancouver Canucks teammates Demitra and Luongo share a laugh after the game.

Quatchi came out with us Friday night and I really think he had a lot of fun… maybe a little too much!

It was an early night as Heineken House was on the agenda for Saturday.

Rally. The key word for the remainder of the Olympics.

A great start to the night as the Canadian Women’s hockey team took home the Gold. Now if only our men’s hockey team can do the same thing….

We wanted to check out either Saxony house, the german beer gardens or Irish House but didn’t end up at any of them. We instead landed at Lux on Granville Street watching Joannie Rochette capture the bronze medal in figure skating. I still can’t believe that just days after her mother passed away that she was able to find that strength. It was a great thing to witness.

The Olympic medalists.

Canvas Lounge has been putting on Victory Celebrations almost every night of the Olympics and so we headed there for their Italian night. Seemed fitting since I am going to Italy this summer. The party was ok. Best thing was the huge wheel of parmesan reggiano. It was amazing and would have loved to just put it in my purse and take it home! I do love me some cheese!

Party scene at Canvas Lounge.

The DJ was great. And then there was this dude. Seriously good! Check out his shredded bow!!

We had fun even though these types of parties are so not my scene but as long as I am with my friends, I am all good!

I thought the Canada vs Russia game was going to be for the Gold medal. Instead it was a quarter final game with the winner moving onto the semi finals. And the loser, would be done for the tournament. And was I ever a nervous wreck.

I should have known that good things were going to happen when we went to the Livecity Downtown site to watch the game though and there was no line up. A good omen!!

Some new and old friends. Go Canada Go!

The Canadian team scored right away and they didn’t let up. I thought the game was going to be a tight one but did not expect us to win like we did. It was amazing!

The energy at Livecity was crazy!

And it didn’t let up after the game either. Our women bobsled teams were racing and the crowd went crazy as we went 1 and 2…. another Gold and Silver for Canada!

Bobsled medalists!

I love how, no matter what the sport, whether it be bobsled, hockey or ice dance, that Canadians are 100% behind the athletes! It is an amazing thing to witness and be a part of!

Before leaving the Livecity site, we checked out Canada House and got our picture taken with an Olympic torch. I already have a few pictures with it, but I seriously love this photo!

We then decided to check out Granville and Robson street which we knew would be filled with people celebrating the big hockey win. It was so fun to see the excitement! There were high fives with strangers, spontaneous “Oh Canada’s” and just overall joy!

Granville Street

And to end the night? Why not a little skating at Robson Square skating rink. I am not a skater… like at all. I would say I shuffle more than skate and use the boards to stop! Knowing how bad I am, I have full respect for the athletes that can spin and jump like they do. We had a good time though.
